If you haven't yet found out how devastating termites can be, we sure hope to take care of the problem before it gets out of hand. The most Common species of termite in Arizona is the Subterranean Termite. Subterranean Termites, which build their colonies in the soil, from which they have to move to locate the wood on which they feed. Subterranean termites are by far the most common in the South Western United States.  Subterranean termites must live in a humid atmosphere with fairly constant temperatures. They build air-tight tunnels or passages from their nests to their feeding places. The tunnels are made by the workers from wood or soil, cemented together with a mixture of saliva and feces. Understanding the termites habitat is key when trying to control these pests.
